Ceasefire Declared in Gaza: Residents Celebrate with Gratitude and Prostration

ইসরায়েল ও হামাসের মধ্যে দীর্ঘ ও রক্তক্ষয়ী সংঘাতের পর অবশেষে গাজায় যুদ্ধবিরতির ঘোষণা এসেছে। ৯ অক্টোবর ২০২৫ সন্ধ্যায় চুক্তি স্বাক্ষরিত হয় এবং তা কার্যকর হবে ইসরায়েলি মন্ত্রিসভা অনুমোদনের ২৪ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে।

চুক্তি অনুযায়ী: হামাস প্রথম ধাপে ২০ জন জিম্মিকে মুক্তি দেবে , ইসরায়েল নির্ধারিত অঞ্চল থেকে সেনা প্রত্যাহার শুরু করবে । যুদ্ধবিরতি স্থায়ী করতে ৭২ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে উভয় পক্ষের মধ্যে পর্যবেক্ষণ টিম গঠন করা হবে ।

জাতিসংঘ গাজায় মানবিক সহায়তা বাড়াবে :  চুক্তির খবর ছড়িয়ে পড়তেই গাজা শহরজুড়ে আনন্দের ছোঁয়া ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। রাস্তায় মানুষ নামে, অনেকেই শুকরিয়া আদায়ে সেজদায় লুটিয়ে পড়ে, কেউ কেউ কান্নায় ভেঙে পড়ে। দীর্ঘ ১১ মাসের রক্তপাতের পর গাজাবাসী শান্তির এক মুহূর্ত স্পর্শ করার সুযোগ পাচ্ছে।

এক স্থানীয় বাসিন্দা আয়মান ইউসুফ বলেন:  “আমরা জানি না এই শান্তি কতক্ষণ থাকবে, কিন্তু আজ অন্তত সন্তানদের সঙ্গে ঘুমাতে পারব।” যুদ্ধবিরতির প্রভাব ইতিমধ্যে সরস অনুভূত হচ্ছে — মানুষ মৃত্যুর ভয়ে না, আশা নিয়ে চলতে শুরু করেছে।

After months of intense bloodshed, a ceasefire agreement has finally been declared between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The agreement was signed on October 9, 2025, and is set to take effect within 24 hours pending Israeli cabinet approval.

Key elements of the agreement include: Hamas will release 20 hostages in its first phase , Israel will withdraw forces from designated areas , A 72-hour observation mechanism will be established between both parties .

The United Nations will increase humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza :  As the news spread, thousands of Gazans poured into the streets, expressing awe and gratitude.
Many performed prostrations of thanksgiving (Sujud Al-Shukr), while others wept, hugged each other, and prayed for lasting peace. Local resident Ayman Yusuf commented:

“We don’t know how long this peace will last, but tonight, we’ll sleep without fear.” The announcement has already ignited a wave of cautious optimism — a break from fear, a step toward hope.

আশা ও চ্যালেঞ্জ একসাথে :  বিশ্লেষকরা বলছেন, এই যুদ্ধবিরতিটিই হতে পারে স্থায়ী শান্তির প্রথম ধাপ — তবে তা সফল হতে হলে উভয় পক্ষের প্রতিশ্রুতি ও বাস্তব পদক্ষেপ জরুরি।
রাজনৈতিক দ্বিধা, অস্ত্র নিয়ন্ত্রণ এবং পুনর্গঠন পরিকল্পনা না বাস্তবায়ন হলে, এই শান্তিও অস্থায়ী হতে পারে।

Gaza now stands at a crossroads — will this ceasefire lead to reconstruction, healing, and lasting peace, or will it be just another fragile interlude between conflicts?
